Bio of Dr. Mark Silverio

Dr. Silverio has been a dedicated veterinarian and a proud owner of Chenango Animal Hospital since 1999. His journey into veterinary medicine was fueled by a deep love for animals and a passion for science and medicine. He earned his bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Massachusetts and pursued two years of graduate studies before gaining admission to veterinary school. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, where he honed his skills and knowledge.

After a fulfilling career, Dr. Silverio has now retired but reflects fondly on the challenges and rewards of his profession. He considers himself fortunate to have chosen a field that he enjoyed immensely. 

At home, Dr. Silverio lives with his wife, Wendy, and their beloved 11-year-old pittbull-American bulldog mix, Daphne. Once an adventruous companion who loved hikes and water, Daphne now enjoys her retirement with shorts walks and long naps.

Looking ahead, Dr. Silverio is excited to spend more time with family and to travel, but he will undoubtedly remain a familiar face around the clinic.
